At the beginning of last year, the AP® Program introduced new resources and processes designed to help students earn college credit and placement. Students will be asked to register for AP Exams in the fall, but exams will continue to be given in May. Students will get personalized feedback through new digital tools that provide daily support for every AP classroom. Their teachers will be able to track their performance throughout the year using monthly personal progress checks.
In addition to the new resources and supports for our students, The College Board has made significant changes to the AP exam ordering process, deadlines, late fees, and cancellation fees that will be mandated for all schools and all students in the 2020-21 school year. To facilitate this mandate, students must now register and pay for their AP tests by November 6, 2020, to avoid a $40 late fee. Families will be required to pay the testing fee for each exam, which is $94 per test. Unused or canceled exams will also be assessed a $40 return fee, which will become part of a student’s obligation account. All invoices will be mailed to the student, along with payment instructions.
If you have any questions regarding the AP Exam process, please feel free to contact a school counselor.
