Coginchaug Regional High School

Please note that the cooperative team opportunities listed below are proposed for the 2026–2027 school year and remain subject to the approval process of the CIAC. Program offerings may change at any time.

 

Coginchaug Regional High School serves as the host school for some cooperative programs, while other opportunities are hosted by neighboring school districts. For programs hosted by another school, the host district reserves the right to assess participation fees for Coginchaug student-athletes.

 

While Regional School District 13 recognizes and supports student participation in these cooperative opportunities, the district does not provide financial assistance to offset participation fees that may be charged by a host school.

 

Regional School District 13 also does not provide transportation for student-athletes participating in cooperative programs hosted by another school. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing transportation to and from all practices, contests, and team activities associated with these programs.

 

Cooperative & Collaborative Team Opportunities

• Participation is contingent upon the availability of a host school and an approved CIAC cooperative or collaborative agreement. If a host school is not available, the program will not be offered.
• Participation fees may apply and are the responsibility of the student's family. Fees are established by the host school or cooperative agreement and are subject to change.
• Regional School District 13 does not provide transportation to or from practices, contests, or team activities. Families are responsible for all transportation.
• Payment of any required participation fee must be completed before the student-athlete is eligible to compete. Families needing a payment plan should contact the Coginchaug Athletic Department.
• Student-athletes may be required to complete registration through both Coginchaug Regional High School and the host school's registration system.

Girls Ice Hockey

• Host School: Guilford High School (pending cooperative approval)
• Estimated Participation Fee: Approximately $1,500
• Payment: Payable to Coginchaug Regional High School
• Season Begins: Approximately November 30, 2026

Boys Ice Hockey

• Host School: North Branford High School (pending cooperative approval)
• Cooperative Schools: Haddam-Killingworth, Old Saybrook, and Coginchaug
• Estimated Participation Fee: Approximately $1,500
• Payment: Payable directly to North Branford High School
• Season Begins: Approximately December 3, 2026

Girls Lacrosse

• Host School: Middletown High School (pending cooperative approval)
• CIAC Status: Approved collaborative team
• Participation Fee: A participation fee may be assessed by Middletown High School.
• Practices: Typically begin after 5:00 p.m. at Middletown High School.
• Season Begins: March 20, 2027
• Schedule: Available through the CIAC using Middletown High School – Girls Lacrosse.

Boys Lacrosse

• Host School: Cromwell High School (pending cooperative approval)
• CIAC Status: Approved collaborative team
• Participation Fee: $375
• Payment: Payable to Coginchaug Regional High School
• Practices: Held at Cromwell High School.
• Season Begins: March 20, 2027
• Schedule: Available through the CIAC using Cromwell High School – Boys Lacrosse.
• Additional Registration: Student-athletes must also complete registration through Cromwell High School's FinalForms. Registration information will be provided separately.
