10th ANNUAL COMMUNITY ROUND-UP
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!!
On Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 9:00-12:00 teams made up of students, teachers, parents and community members will be roving the town in a scavenger like fashion. Students will travel in teams of three or four following assigned routes to collect non-perishable items, canned goods, donations, and gift cards that will be distributed to the needy. This community project has been an annual event for the last 9 years and has filled Durham & Middlefield food pantries each year. Additional food items are also delivered to the Amazing Grace food pantry in Middletown. Last year, 13,266 food items and over $2,400.00 in cash and gift cards were collected!
Students can register in teams with a driver or those who prefer to remain at the high school can assist by sorting, counting, & packing. We also need volunteers to help load the trucks and then unload them at Amazing Grace. Students must fill out a permission slip to participate. A sizable number of volunteers are needed to make this day a success.
Please click here for a permission slip.
In keeping with the spirit of the day, items will be counted for a grand total only. All volunteers will be eligible for raffle prizes and breakfast will be served at 8:30 am, sponsored by the Durham Women’s Club. Registration will be from 8:30 to 8:45 am.
Contact Mrs. Schofield or Mrs. Bottini in Guidance @ 860-349-7221 if you have questions. So come out and volunteer - it’s a great way to get in the holiday spirit!
