Dear Parents/Guardians,

 On behalf of the Coginchaug Regional High School faculty, I would like to welcome you back for the 2016-2017 school year. 

 Throughout the summer, our faculty has been working hard to ensure that we are ready to provide the best education possible for your child.  During the past two months our teachers have rewritten assessments, aligned their curriculums to meet the newly adopted state standards and planned engaging assignments for their course offerings.  Within the 2016-2017 school year, we will continue to strive to improve your child’s high school experiences.  As we focus on making a positive impact on education, we will continue to address policies to ensure a safe environment for learning. 

 To assist us in updating our records for the 2016-2017 school year, please read through and complete the enclosed materials.  Within this packet you will find:

  • Free and Reduced Lunch Information
  • Student Parking Form (Juniors and Seniors Only)

 Throughout the remainder of the summer, Coginchaug Regional High School’s administration and secretarial staff will be in the school further preparing for the school year.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us through email or by calling (860) 349-7215.  Enjoy the rest of your summer and I hope to see you at our Open House on Thursday, September 29th at 6:00 p.m.

Important upcoming dates and events at the high school:

  • Student schedules will officially be released and available to view on PowerSchool on Friday, August 19th
  • Our guidance office will reopen August 22nd through the first day of school from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. to address concerns.  Please call (860) 349-7221 for an appointment.
  • Freshman Orientation – Tuesday, August 30th, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • The first day of school is Wednesday, August 31st, and our school day begins at 7:25 a.m. and ends at 2:02 p.m.  (On the first day of school your child will report directly to their assigned homeroom and will receive a hardcopy of their schedule.  Teachers will inform students of the supplies they will need on the first two days of school.)
  • Senior Parent Night – Thursday, September 8th, at 6:30 p.m.
  • Get Acquainted Night (Open House) – Thursday, September 29th, at 6:00 p.m.
